Meet Melissa

By most statistics, Melissa wasn't expected to succeed.

She dropped out of high school at 16, became a mother at 19, struggled financially, lived in a trailer park and Section 8 housing, and spent years working jobs that led nowhere. At one point, she had a credit score of 470, no vehicle, and often relied on borrowing money. Many people around her had already decided what her future would look like and it wasn't promising.

One of the biggest turning points in Melissa's life came when she realized she was allowing other people's opinions to define her. She especially felt judged by her son's father and constantly felt looked down upon and treated as though she was beneath him. Over time, those feelings became impossible to ignore. What concerned Melissa most wasn't what other people thought of her—it was what her young son might eventually think if he saw his mother accepting that role. She was determined to change that. That decision changed everything.

In 2001, Melissa entered the real estate industry. By 2005, she had opened her own appraisal firm and later became a top-producing real estate agent. She refused to let her circumstances, education, or the opinions of others determine her future. In 2016, Melissa took another leap and invented the LueMelit Light Switch. Since then, she has developed multiple inventions and, in 2025, signed a deal to help bring her products to market. Today, she continues to innovate while also helping her son develop and pursue his own invention. Her daughter is also working on an invention! 

Melissa's passion for these seminars comes from personal experience. She had her first invention idea at just 16 years old, but without guidance, resources, or support, she didn't know how to turn that idea into reality. Like many people, she had ideas but no roadmap. That's why she created these seminars. Melissa knows there are people everywhere who have been told they're not smart enough, educated enough, connected enough, or successful enough to achieve their dreams. She knows because she was one of them. 

Her goal is not to take from people—it's to give back. Through education, networking, mentorship, and real-world guidance, she wants to help everyday people bring their ideas to life, regardless of their background, circumstances, or knowledge. She believes too many dreams are abandoned because someone told them they couldn't do it. These seminars are about proving otherwise.
